About the Candidate:
Kentucky State Senate District 34. Madison, Lincoln, Rockcastle Counties.

Endorsements:
From an early age, my grandma would always tell me "if you want things to be better… you have to MAKE them better.” I have followed her advice all my life. I have worked diligently to improve my life and my community. I have seen opportunities to make things better, to do things differently, and I have acted upon them.

At this point in my life, I am again reminded of my grandma's teaching. The message she impressed upon me has led me to seek the office of State Senator. We need a leader and we need positive change. I am that leader and I can bring about that change.

I grew up on a farm, so hard work is not new to me. My family was not privileged, by any means. I worked hard, I studied, and I made a better life for myself and my family. I have worked to build several businesses that have created a number of jobs in our community. I have instilled in my employees a desire to "be a part of something" and to participate by “giving back” to make our community a better place to live. I encourage all my employees to volunteer on boards and committees, to participate in local charities, basically to take an active role in our community. Participation is good for our business and it's good for the community.

As a lifelong resident, business owner, and employer. I know first-hand the stresses that our economy has created for families and small businesses. I know what it feels like to worry about meeting payroll. I know how difficult it is to comply with all the regulations that government places upon us. I know what its like to struggle with family obligations and business demands. I believe now, more than ever, that we need strong leadership to help guide us through these rocky economic times. I know that working together we can make our Kentucky home a better place to pass on to the next generation. I have several ideas that I will implement as soon as I take office. I WILL NOT be a Senator that just sits there and collects a paycheck. I already know the inner workings and the players in Frankfort. I have spent much of my life involved in dealing with the legislature and working in many campaigns for the current members. I will not be lost when taking my seat. I will be able to hit the ground running, and I promise that you will see me OFTEN in your community. I never want to hear from any constituent the words "I DON'T KNOW" when someone asks them "Who represents you in Frankfort?"

This is MORE that just an election. This is YOU placing your trust in ME to help grow your communities and plan your futures. We are seeing this recession finally easing up and drawing to an end. We need to be poised to take advantage of the good times to come.

Senator Worley has set a high standard to follow. He has worked both sides of the aisle and has managed to bring home a number of much needed projects to our District. He is a tough act to follow. But I know without a doubt that I am up to the task.

I ask for your support and your vote in the Democratic Primary on May 18th.
